The purpose of your per pet non refundable deposit is to secure your first appointment(s) and it will be applied as a credit to your first session. The minimum deposit is $30
Deposits can be rolled twice to a different day for grooming should you need to reschedule (as long as it is within the 24hr cancellation period). After two appointment date changes, your deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to schedule an appointment.  
Deposits are required for new clients and at the our discretion for clients who consistently mismanage scheduling or payments.
Vaccination proof must be validated at least three days prior to your appointment. We reserve the right to cancel your grooming appointment due to over due vaccinations and lack of proof and your deposit will be forfeited.  


We understand that situations change and if you must cancel we do require at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations should be made via email, phone, or text. If a cancellation is made without 24 hours notice it will be subject to a charge equaling 50% of your scheduled groom(s) (which will include your forfeited deposit if we have one on file). If we arrive and the pet owner (or authorized adult) or the pet is not ready and available for grooming within 15 minutes, this will be considered a no show and you will be charged a trip fee of $65 (if your scheduled services are less than $65) OR you will be charged up to 100% of your scheduled grooming services. Habitual cancellations and no shows (whether within 24hrs or not) may be subject to inconvenience fees, and/or required deposits, and/or potential termination. 


A trip charge is flat fee of $65 per pet that is incurred due to ANY OR ALL OF of the following (if your scheduled services are less than $100–otherwise you will be charged 50% - 100% of your scheduled grooming services—whichever is greater): 

  • You cancel your appointment while we are in route to your home
  • We arrive to your home and your pet(s) coat is in a misrepresented condition or ‘far worse’ shape than you advised 
  • If your pet requires premedication and you failed to administer it properly or at all 
  • We arrive to your home and no one answers (the owner or otherwise authorized adult)
  • We arrive to your home and your pet is not available within 15 minutes to begin service

If you have a deposit on file, trip charges will be collected in addition to (i.e. not combined with) your then forfeited deposit. 


Yes. All dogs MUST be up to date on a rabies vaccine. Bordetella and distemper are optional but HIGHLY recommended as the groomer will interact with other dogs. *Puppy vaccines must be as current as possible as required by your vet*


We accept Cash, Zelle, and Venmo. Exact change is required for cash payments as we do not carry change. We do NOT accept checks. 


For severe matting, NO. We will require the dog to be shaved/cut short and start fresh AND/OR we will stop/cancel/refuse attempted service and potentially refuse future servicing. Brushing out tangles is extremely different than dematting/brushing out mats; when applicable, tangles will be removed for an additional fee.

Sometimes starting over is the best way to help get you towards maintaining healthy grooming habits for your dog. We will work to leave your pet as long as possible, but at The Water Plug we believe in humanity over vanity!


The short answer is no. If your dog requires more than what is considered to be a reasonable amount of time for blow drying—you may be subject to additional fees due to behavior and time. 

Under certain circumstances it may be possible to:

  • Have your dog groomed before the bath and allow your dog to air dry afterwards or no bath at all.
  • IF permitted and you opt to bathe your dog the night before the groom.
  • Once we approve any of these special accommodations we will require a signed waiver of consent. There will be NO discounts for any of these accommodations if approve. You will be charged for the service(s) you are scheduled for. 


We will vacuum and/or sweep after the groom, leaving your home as clean and neat as possible. It is not guaranteed that we will get ‘every piece of hair’ and recommend a tile floor or other smooth surface area as well as removing rugs. No carpet! 


No. All prices are per service and per pet. There are no discounts or deductions for anything for any reason. 


We do NOT express anal glands.
We recommend speaking with your veterinarian in regard to this excluded services for the best possible treatment. We also do NOT polish nails or dye coats. 


We currently service Tucker, Lilburn, and Smoke Rise GA and some surrounding areas. If you are out of these areas please reach out with an address and why you would need our services. At our discretion, some exceptions may be made for an additional travel fee.


We have minimal experience with cat grooming. A well behaved cat grooming is a possibility. Feel free to reach out for a definitive answer and quote. Do NOT complete the registration form for your cat.


This service is certainly a possibility even for aggressive pets. It will be an hourly service done in sessions, with a minimum of 5. A signed waiver will be required and the deposit amount will be greater. Please reach out for more information. 


Yes! If and when available relief grooming in a salon, mobile van, or vet hospital may be an option. This is great planning ahead for your current staff to request off or if your hospital does not typically offer grooming. Please reach out for contracts and pricing.

Recommendations For Your Puppy

If you’re thinking about getting scheduled, go ahead and get scheduled! Ideally you will want to wait until the second round of vaccines has been administered but when possible it is best to start your puppy’s grooming acclimation right away. Having your puppy exposed to the grooming process, tools, and routine early on can help build a positive relationship with grooming maintenance for a life time. Understanding is key as the puppy grooming process typically develops gradually over time. The early stages will focus on more gaining trust, confidence, and comfort rather than style. We may have to start with a bath and work our way up from there! *Puppy vaccines must be as up to date as possible as required by your vet*

All new clients must complete a registration form and pay a non-refundable per pet deposit.
