At The Water Plug, our number one priority is safety (for your pet and our staff). We typically require all dogs to be under 40lbs and proof of at least a rabies vaccination. A raised large sink is preferred for bathing; however other accommodations may be made when possible upon request.
A quiet, private, and climate controlled area in your home to complete the grooming process is mandatory. Preferably a tile floor or smooth surface area (recommended to cover/remove rugs/furniture). When applicable (regarding safety and weather) and we approve—grooming (not bathing) can be completed outside.
We ask that you provide access to an electrical outlet, and if needed an extension cord and extra towel(s).
Parking must be free or reimbursed at the clients expense and use of the driveway is preferred. Otherwise parking should be as close to the home as possible (no more than 50ft).
Timing flexibility is highly recommended.
In-Home grooming (or “house-call grooming”) services may be great for dogs who experience stress and/or anxiety but is NOT for dogs who require medical sedation and/or anesthesia. We strongly suggest knowing as much as possible about your dogs behavior and grooming service(s) triggers/limits (e.g., blow dryer, nail trims, recommended sedatives etc...) PRIOR to contacting us. Additional fees may be incurred at our discretion for certain behaviors.
IF permitted by your leasing/housing agreement(s), services can also be provided in the spa area of your residence (thus allowing the possibility of having a larger dog groomed ‘at home’.)
It is required that an owner or authorized adult remain home during the entire service unless otherwise permitted. We strongly advise to schedule your next appointment at the end of each visit.
Please confirm you are within our service area or be prepared that you may be subject to additional travel fees.
